Mission
"we want to share the joy of his Good News in a natural and culturally relevant way so that many come to know Jesus as Saviour and Lord"
Our commitment to mission is worked out practically in three distinctive ways:
- Outreach to people in our local community.
- Support for members of our congregation working further afield.
- Financial Giving to Christian organisations.

International Relationships (Mission partners) & Mission Giving
We allocate part of our resources for Mission Giving. We work with six
established Church agencies both in the UK and overseas. We encourage
Congregational involvement in each of these organisations by regular news
updates from individuals in the Church, and by giving all of our loose
collection at each morning service to one of these mission partners, on a
six-monthly cycle.
Southover Church has longstanding connections with individuals working in
Mission organisations all over the world. We maintain our relationship through
the regular exchange of news and visitors between our congregation and our
link partners.
Bible Society
Website
Contact: Herbert Bennett
Bible Society exists to make the Bible heard throughout the world. We are
passionate about ending Bible poverty – and work towards a day when the Bible’s
life-changing message is shaping lives and communities everywhere.
Overseas, Bible Society is making the Bible available and affordable in languages
and formats people can use and understand. In England and Wales, the Society
works to build bridges between the Bible and people’s everyday lives, as well
as to rebuild confidence in its message. Visit www.biblesociety.org.uk for more information.

Contact: John Price
Our primary contact is through Dr Pat Nickson. Pat has been our Link
Missionary for 20 Years, working mainly in the DR Congo. Throughout the coups
and unrest there, she has maintained her commitment to train community nurses,
in order to educate communities about health. She has also operated at a
pan-African level as an adviser, as well as somehow finding the time to be a
part-time curate on Merseyside!

pilot Laura Westley and her family currently based in Kenya.
Rwanda
Mission Rwanda provides Southover Church in Lewes the opportunity to work in direct
partnership with the people of Rwanda, building on the ministry over many years of
Dr Richard Rowland and his wife Prilla.
